ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION There is provided a new and useful process of interfacing a display hologram or a diffraction grating with printing for creating a total graphic, comprising in sequence, printing a graphic upon a fabric substrate with a thermoplastic printing ink, loading the substrate onto a lower platen of a thermostatically controlled heat transfer machine, inserting a heat radiating metal plate between the lower platen and an underside of the substrate against the rear side of a portion of the printed graphic of the substrate, placing a film having the hologram or diffraction grating thereon on the printed graphic in registry with the metal plate with the ink underlying the entire area of the film, placing a glossy coated release paper on the film, lowering an upper-heated element of the heat transfer machine onto the paper for heating, softening and melting the ink, and recovering the substrate including the graphic having the ink oozed upwardly around the edges of the film whereby the film is embedded in the ink. The invention also extends to products of the process.
