The present invention provides a high capacity adsorbent for removing sulfur from hydrocarbon streams. The adsorbent comprises a composite material containing particles of a nickel phosphide complex NixP. The adsorbent is utilized in a sulfur removal process that does not require added hydrogen, and run at relatively low temperatures ranging from about 150 °C to about 400 °C. The process of this invention enables "ultra-deep" desulfurization down to levels of about 1 ppm and less.
La présente invention concerne un adsorbant à haut rendement qui permet d'éliminer le soufre des flux d'hydrocarbures. L'adsorbant contient un matériau composite contenant des particules d'un complexe de phosphure de nickel NixP. L'adsorbant est utilisé dans un procédé d'élimination du soufre ne nécessitant pas l'ajout d'hydrogène et agit à des températures relativement basses allant de 150°C environ à 400°C environ. Le procédé de cette invention permet de mettre en AEuvre une désulfuration <= extrêmement poussée >= pouvant atteindre des taux inférieurs ou égaux à 1ppm environ.
