ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A sulfonic acid ester of the formula: R?-SO2-OR? wherein R? is a member selected from the group consisting of an alkyl, an oxo substituted bicycloalkylalkyl, an aralkyl, an arylalkenyl, phenyl, a phenyl having substituent(s) selected from the group consisting of an alkyl, an alkenyl, a halogen and nitro, and a pyridyl, and R?O- is a member selected from the group consisting of a benzotriazolyloxy, a benzotriazolyl- oxy having one substituent selected from the group consisting of nitro, a halogen and an alkenyl, and an oxo substituted di- hydrobenzotriazinyloxy, with the proviso that when R? is a phenyl having one alkyl, R?O- is not a benzotriazolyloxy. Preparation of this ester. The novel sulfonic acid ester is useful as condensation agent in amidation or esterification reaction. They are also easily handled because they are generally stable crystals and are hardly hydrolyzed by water.
