Abstract: Recovery of metals from metal-bearing materials and beneficiation of metal-bearing materials using a process comprising reducing a component of the material to a metallic state and then segregating the metal so formed from the remaining material using a segregation catalyst at an elevated temperature so that the metal may be sub- sequently separated from the relict non-metallic residue.
