Le procédé objet de l'invention comprend un ensemble d'étapes visant à préparer une charge solide de type biomasse ligno-cellulosique, en vue d'alimenter une unité de gazéification de cette charge. Le procédé utilise au moins une étape de maturation de la charge en présence d'une phase liquide hydrocarbonée à une température comprise entre 250°C et 320°C pendant un temps de résidence d'au moins 10 minutes, et un broyage en présence de liquide hydrocarboné des fragments solides ainsi traités thermiquement, pour obtenir une suspension de solide sous forme divisée de dimension caractéristique inférieure à 150 micromètres; L'invention concerne aussi un dispositif de mise en oeuvre du procédé.
