Abstract The invention relates to a process for bleaching paper stock at elevated temperature and at a stock density of > 20% by weight during intensive mechanical treatment of the stock, characterized in that bleaching is carried out using 0.05 to 2.5% by weight formamidine sulfinic acid, based on bone-dry stock.
