PROCESS FOR BONDING A DURABLE LOW SURFACE ENERGY COATING Abstract of the Disclosure This invention is concerned with a process for bonding a durable low surface energy coating to a metal or oxide surface. The metal or oxide surface is first treated with an alkali and then in the dry state with a material containing a fluorinated alkyl group linked by an ether linkage to an alkyl silane group. The invention can be used, for example, as friction reducing, inert coatings for ink jet nozzles, magnetic disks and the like.
