This invention involves a process for wrapping a core and keeping it under pressure with an envelope made of a composite material; it also involves the equipment required for this process. The procedure that is the subject of the invention involves: - constructing an envelope (4), from a composite material, and giving it an inside diameter which is, before introduction of the core (6), less than the outside diameter of the core; aligning the said core (6) and envelope (4) by centering one on the other; exerting tensile stress on the said core (6) in such a way as to ensure an appropriate seal between each of the parts of the extremities of the core (6) that are in contact with the envelope (4); injecting a fluid under pressure into the envelope in question (4) in the direction of the said core (6) in order to gradually increase the diameter of the envelope as it moves in an axial direction (4) and, if necessary, reduce the diameter of the core (6) and, simultaneously, continuing to exert tensile stress on the said core (6), gradually inserting it (6) in the said envelope (4); stopping the injection of fluid once the core (6) has been completely inserted in the envelope (4) - cutting off the part of the envelope held by the base. L'invention est relative à un procédé pour fretter et maintenir sous pression un noyau par une enveloppe en matériau composite et à un appareillage pour la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé. Selon l'invention, le procédé consiste a : - réaliser ladite enveloppe (4) en matériau composite dont la section interne est, avant introduction du noyau (6), inférieure 3 la section externe du noyau, - aligner ledit noyau (6) et ladite enveloppe (4) en les centrant sensiblement l'un vis-à-vis de l'autre, - exercer un effort de traction préalable sur ledit noyau (6) de façon à assurer une étanchéité convenable entre les parties en contact de chacune des extrémités du noyau (6) et de l'enveloppe (4), - injecter un fluide sous pression dans ladite enveloppe (4) et en direction dudit noyau (6) afin d'augmenter progressivement en se déplaçant dans le sens axial la section de l'enveloppe (4) et, éventuellement de réduire la section du noyau (6), et simultanément continuer d'exercer un effort de traction sur ledit noyau (6) de façon a introduire au fur et à mesure ledit noyau (6) dans ladite enveloppe (4), - arrêter l'injection de fluide après introduction complète du noyau (6) dans l'enveloppe (4), - découper la partie perdue de 1'enveloppe tenue par 1'embase (1).
