A process for the carbonylation of allylic butenol or butenyl ester of a carboxylic acid (e.g., crotyl acetate, 3-acetoxybutene-1 and mixtures thereof) in an anhydrous carboxylic acid solvent and production of beta-gamma unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride (e.g., 3-pentenoic acid anhydride) utilizing a rhodium-containing catalyst (e.g., dicarbonylacetylacetonate rhodium (I)) promoted with a metal iodide (e.g., dicarbonylacetylacetonate rhodium (I), or the like). Such a process is particularly useful in the production of beta-gamma unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride without promoting the back reaction producing butadiene and a carboxylic acid.
Cette invention a trait à un procédé de carbonylation d'ester de buténol ou de butényle allylique d'un acide carboxylique (par exemple, acétate de crotyle, 3-acétoxybutène-1 et leurs mélanges) dans un solvant d'acide carboxylique anhydre et à la production d'un anhydride d'acide carboxylique insaturé bêta-gamma (par exemple, un anhydride d'acide penténoïque-3) à l'aide d'un catalyseur contenant du rhodium (par exemple, du dicarbonylacétylacétonate-rhodium (I)) avec pour agent promoteur un iodure de métal (par exemple, du dicarbonylacétylacétonate-rhodium (I) ou analogue). Ce procédé se révèle particulièrement utile pour produire un anhydride d'acide carboxylique insaturé bêta-gamma sans provoquer de réaction en retour produisant du butadiène et un acide carboxylique.
