Abstract of the Invention Cell surface phenotyping of lymphocyte subpopulations using polystyrene plates having a plurality of small wells is accomplished by introducing to the wells antibody molecules specific for cell-surface antigens, which adhere to or are absorbed to the well surfaces, introducing to the wells a predetermined quantity of peripheral blood lymphocyte cells, incubating the cells in the presence of a cell nutrient, removing nonadherent cells, introducing different antibodies to different wells, introducing complement to the wells, and determining the degree of lyis of the cells.
