24,729 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The clarification of specified types of aqueous sus- pensions of finely divided solids by the use of polymeric floc- culating agents is markedly enhanced if, in conjunction with specified types of polymeric flocculating agents, the suspen- sions are treated with an aqueous acid colloidal solution of a melamine/formaldehyde resin containing from 2 to about 12 moles of formaldehyde per mole of melamine.
