ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Lubrication oils used in rolling strip and foil in the light metal industing are contaminated with fine metallic particles during rolling. The process described here allows these oils to be cleaned either continuously or in a batch process by adding a strongly alkaline solution to the warm contaminated oil whereby these fine particles coagulate and can be separated out by means of centrifuging or filtering.
