A protective coating is formed on a metallic surface by contacting the surface with an aqueous solution of fluorometallate followed by an aqueous solution containing vanadate ions. The process does not require the use of any organic substances, but provides a corrosion resistant surface having good heat conductivity.

Cette invention concerne un revêtement de protection que l'on forme sur une surface métallique en mettant cette surface en contact avec une solution aqueuse de fluorométallate, puis avec une solution aqueuse renfermant des ions vanadate. Ce procédé sans recours à des substances organiques permet d'obtenir une surface résistant à la corrosion et présentant une bonne conductivité thermique.
