A process for continuous photopolymerisation Abstract of the Disclosure A process for the continuous photopolymerisation of ethyleni- cally unsaturated monomers, wherein the ethylenically un- saturated monomers may be in bulk, solution, emulsion or suspension and flow continuously and freely down the inner wall of a vertically arranged tube, in which an ultraviolet light source is concentrically arranged, and are thus poly- merised by irradiation in the presence of from 0 to 10 % by weight (relative to monomer quantity) of suitable photoinitiators. The process is particularly suitable for the polymerisation of water-in-oil emulsions of water-soluble, ethylenically unsaturated and highly reactive monomers like acrylamide and other acrylic monomers.
