A combined process for the conversion of solid starting particles into solid intermediate particles and reducing the median diameter of the intermediate particles to obtain product particles. This process involves flowing a suspension of starting particles through a series of at least two conversion vessels, thereby converting at least part of the starting particles into intermediate particles, adding a supercritical fluid to one or more of the conversion vessels, thereby forming a supercritical suspension, and releasing pressure from the supercritical suspension, thereby expanding the suspension and converting the intermediate particles into product particles.

L'invention concerne un procédé combiné, destiné à convertir des particules de départ solides en particules intermédiaires solides et à réduire le diamètre médian des particules intermédiaires, de façon à obtenir des particules de produits. Ledit procédé implique : l'écoulement d'une suspension de particules de départ à travers une série d'au moins deux récipients de conversion, tout en convertissant au moins une partie des particules de départ en particules intermédiaires ; l'addition d'un liquide supercritique à un ou plusieurs récipients de conversion, tout en formant une suspension supercritique ; et la libération de la pression de la suspension supercritique, tout en effectuant l'expansion de la suspension et la conversion des particules intermédiaires en particules de produits.
