This invention relates to a process for converting a hydrocarbon reactant to a product comprising an oxygenate or a nitrile, the process comprising: (A) flowing a reactant composition comprising the hydrocarbon reactant, and oxygen or a source of oxygen, and optionally ammonia, through a microchannel reactor in contact with a catalyst to convert the hydrocarbon reactant to the product, the hydrocarbon reactant undergoing an exothermic reaction in the microchannel reactor; (B) transferring heat from the microchannel reactor to a heat exchanger during step (A); and (C) quenching the product from step (A).
Cette invention porte sur un procédé de conversion d'un réactif d'hydrocarbure en un produit contenant un composé oxygéné ou un nitrile. Ce procédé consiste : (A) à faire circuler une composition réactive contenant le réactif d'hydrocarbure, et de l'oxygène ou une source d'oxygène, et facultativement de l'hydroxyde d'ammonium, à travers un réacteur en contact avec un catalyseur afin de convertir le réactif d'hydrocarbure en produit, le réactif d'hydrocarbure étant soumis à une réaction exothermique dans le réacteur à micro-canaux, (B) à transférer de la chaleur du réacteur à micro-canaux vers un échangeur thermique au cours de l'étape (A) ; et (C) à tremper le produit issu de l'étape (A).
