PROCESS FOR CONVERTING ALCOHOLS INTO OLEFINS Abstract Stable thermal operation of the conversion of a lower aliphatic alcohol alone or as a mixture with its corresponding ether is achieved in a cooled tubular reactor having a diameter and a length which will maintain the ratio of the rate of change of heat generation within the reactor with respect to temperature to the rate of change of heat removal by cooling with respect to temperature at a value not greater than unity.
