Abstract A process for producing ammonium sulfate from ammonium sulfite by oxidation of an ammonium sulfite solution having a pH of between about 6 and about 7.5, at a temperature between about 190°F, and below about 300°F. and a pressure between about 200 psig and about 300 psig, with oxygen or oxygen containing gas.
