A process for converting fuel into electricity. Abstract This invention relates to a process for converting a fuel on the basis of hydrocarbon into electricity, by comprising the following stages: a) catalytically converting said fuel into an H2 containing gas, b) passing said H2 containing gas through at least one "pressure-swing" adsorption unit to produce an H2 gas stream of high purity, as well as a desorption gas, and c) supplying said H2 gas stream of high purity to the anode compartments of at least one fuel cell stack in operating at a temperature of at least 140°C, in which electricity is generated.
