ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Process for converting premilled quinacridone to pigmentary form by contacting the premilled quinacri- done with an aqueous alkaline medium in the presence of at least one surfactant. The process eliminates the need for salt in the premilling operation and eliminates the use of organic liquids in the premilling or after- treatment of the premilled quinacridone.
