ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Crosslinkable polymers and co-polymers are treated with boric acid, boric acid anhydride, or mixtures thereof prior to crosslinking with free radical organic peroxide initiators in the presence of oxygen. This pre-treatment prevents stickiness of the surface of the crosslinked polymer making the crosslinked polymer more commercially acceptable.
