In order to check and detect the genuineness of bank notes (1), light from a radiation source (4) is passed through them and a monochrome image with at least 32 grey gradations is made by means of a digital camera (3). The signal from said digital camera (3) is taken to a computer (7) for the evaluation of the number, frequency and/or surface distribution of the grey gradations detected.
En vue de la détection et de la vérification de l'authenticité de billets de banque (1), ceux-ci sont traversés par un rayon lumineux provenant d'une source lumineuse (4), et une image en noir et blanc avec au moins 32 niveaux de gris détectés est prise par une caméra numérique (3). Le signal de la caméra numérique (3) est envoyé à un ordinateur (7) pour l'évaluation du nombre, de la fréquence et/ou de la distribution en surface des niveaux de gris détectés.
