A process for detecting, and monitoring, changes in the properties of a fluidized bed of particulate solids, especially a fluidized bed of particulate catalytic solids at elevated temperature wherein a low molecular weight hydrocarbon is converted, in the presence of steam and oxygen, to synthesis gas. Measurement is made of the magnitude of differential pressure fluctuations taken at different levels of bed elevation and these are recorded as a standard deviation, or normalized standard deviation, and directly related to particle size changes caused by agglomeration (growth) and/or attrition (size reduction). Operation of the process requires the use of fast response pressure transducers that are located in the bed and connected to an A/D board of a PC which records and accumulates the data for processing, and analysis. In a preferred process, the method is applied to the fluidized bed production of synthesis gas.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de détection et de contrôle des changements de propriétés d'un lit fluidisé de solides particulaires, en particulier d'un lit fluidisé de solides catalytiques particulaires à haute température, dans lequel un hydrocarbure à faible poids moléculaire est converti, en présence de vapeur et d'oxygène, en gaz de synthèse. On mesure l'amplitude des variations de pressions différentielle à différents niveaux d'élévation du lit et on enregistre ces mesures en tant que déviations standard, ou que déviations standard normalisées, et on les met directement en relation avec les changements de taille des particules dus à l'agglomération (augmentation de taille) et/ou à l'attrition (diminution de taille). Pour que ce procédé fonctionne, on doit utiliser des transducteurs de pression à réaction rapide, situés dans le lit et connectés à une carte de conversion analogique/numérique sur PC qui enregistre et stocke les données destinées au traitement et à l'analyse. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, le procédé est appliqué à la production en lit fluidisé de gaz de synthèse.
