A-567 Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Aktiengesellschaft Abstract In a process for determining the rotational speed of a machine, said machine being provided with a driving apparatus and with a rotational-speed sensor, in which a setpoint value for the rotational speed is inputted into the drive and in which an actual value is obtainable from the rotational-speed sensor, the setpoint value is supplied to a mathematical model of the controlled system formed by the drive and by the machine. The output of the model supplies a computed actual value. The difference is formed between the measured actual value and the computed actual value. If the absolute amount of the difference is exceeded, the computed actual value, and otherwise the measured actual value, is passed on.
