The present invention relates to a process for drying protein crystals starting from an aqueous protein crystal suspension, which comprises drying the protein crystal suspension in a centrifugal dryer, where, preferably, the protein crystals, after they have been filtered off from the protein crystal suspension, are brought into a drying medium which consists of a mixture of water and a nonaqueous solvent which is miscible with water in any ratio and which has a lower vapor pressure than water. In the process, a drying gas which has been moistened with water is advantageously used. The protein crystal suspension is advantageously converted into a fluidized bed for the purpose of drying.

L'invention concerne un procédé de séchage de cristaux de protéine, à partir d'une suspension de cristaux de protéine aqueux, qui se caractérise en ce que la suspension de cristaux de protéine est soumise à une opération de séchage dans un séchoir par centrifugation. Après avoir été séparés de la suspension de cristaux de protéine par filtration, les cristaux de protéine sont de préférence introduits dans une substance de séchage, à base d'un mélange d'eau et d'un solvant non aqueux miscible à de l'eau dans n'importe quel rapport, dont la pression de vaporisation est inférieure à celle de l'eau. A cet effet, on utilise avantageusement un gaz de séchage, humidifié avec de l'eau. La suspension de cristaux de protéine est avantageusement transformée en un lit fluidisé, à des fins de séchage.
