Abstract of the Disclosure Discloses the use of nickel-cobalt alloy strike deposits especially ultra-thin nickel-cobalt alloy strike deposits on directly plateable plastics whereby difficulties encountered in plating directly plateable plastics are obviated and plated objects suitable for service conditions 3 and 4 or equivalent service conditions are provided. Especially advantageous results are obtained when the strike deposit contains at least about 30% cobalt.
