A process for electrowinning copper comprising depositing copper by electrolysis onto a cathode from an aqueous sulfuric acid-copper electrolyte. A small amount of animal glue proportioned to the amount of copper deposited is added. The animal glue is effective to cause the copper to form an essentially pure, nodule-free deposit.
