An analytical process is disclosed, for discriminating data acquired from samples with overlapping distributions, and for improving and assessing the statistical validity of hybridization signal in arrays of assays. The process includes method of convolving data into two or more discrete probability density functions representing signal and nonsignal, discrete fluors, or other convolved independent variables. The system uses the probability density functions to assign hybridisation signals, objectively, to one of the modeled distributions. Subsequent processes assess variability inherent to the arrays, and use this assessed variation to establish reliability scores and confidence limits for complete hybridization arrays, and for discrete hybridization assays within arrays.

L'invention concerne un procédé analytique de discrimination de données obtenues à partir d'échantillons présentant des répartitions se chevauchant et d'amélioration et d'évaluation de la validité statistique d'un signal d'hybridation dans les tableaux d'analyse. Ce procédé consiste à convolutionner des données pour en faire deux ou plusieurs signaux et non signaux représentant des densités de probabilité distinctes, des fluors distincts, ou d'autres variables indépendantes convolutionnées. Ce système utilise les fonctions de densité de probabilité pour affecter objectivement des signaux d'hybridation à l'une des répartitions modélisées. Des procédés ultérieurs permettent d'évaluer la variabilité inhérente aux tableaux, et d'utiliser ces variations ainsi évaluées pour établir des résultats de fiabilité et des limites de confiance pour des tableaux complets d'hybridation et pour des analyses d'hybridation distinctes au sein des tableaux.
