ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for fully removing from the perfluoropolyethers having a minimum vapour tension, the organic polluting material containing group -OH and/or bonds ?C-H, which comprises treating the perfluoropolyether with oxygen, or chlorine or fluorine, at a high temperature and in the presence of ultraviolet radiations, in order to convert the impurities to volatile degradation products readily removable by degassing.
