A process for extruding a section or the like body from an ingot (24) is such that an ingot (24) is introduced into a bore (22) of a container (18) and, by means of an extrusion stem (16), is fed in the direction of extrusion into a shape-giving opening in a die (32). Before the ingot enters the die opening, it is pushed out of the container (18) by an amount corresponding to the width (t) of a collar whereupon a disk-shaped slice (48) is sheared off the free end of the ingot and removed. The free end of the ingot (24) is then pushed onto the die opening. In order to carry out this process a shearing tool (38) is provided after the end (23a) of the container (18) facing the die (32) and a moveable shearing blade (39) positioned over that entrance to the container bore (22) The disk-shaped slice (48) should preferably be sheared away together with a residual butt (42) of the previously extruded ingot which faces away from the die. To that end a shearing tool (38) with two shearing blades (39, 39a) is provided and can be moved radially with respect to the longitudinal axis (A) of the container bore (18).
Un procédé permettant d'extruder une section d'une billette (24). La billette (24) est introduite dans le corps (22) de la machine (18) et, à l'aide d'un piston (16), est poussée en direction de l'orifice de façonnage d'une filière (32). Avant de pénétrer dans l'orifice de la filière, la billette est poussée hors du corps (18) jusqu'à ce qu'il en ressorte une longueur égale à la largeur (t) d'un collier; une tranche en forme de disque (48) est coupée à même la partie libre de la billette puis éliminée. La partie libre de la billette (24) est ensuite poussée contre la filière. Afin de réaliser cette opération, un outil à cisailler (38) est installé à l'extrémité (23a) du corps (18) faisant face à la filière (32), et une lame à cisailler mobile (39) est placée au-dessus de l'entrée au corps (22). De préférence, la tranche en forme de disque (48) est coupée en même temps qu'un culot résiduel (42) de la billette précédente qui s'éloigne de la filière. Pour ce faire, on installe un outil à cisailler (38) muni de deux lames (39 et 39a) qui peut être déplacé sur le plan radial par rapport à l'axe longitudinal (A) du corps (18) de l'extrudeuse.
