A low-energy input process for the pyrolytic conversion of biomass to charcoal or carbonized charcoal is provided. The biomass is sealed in a container (14), pressurized with air (1) and heated to ignition by rod heaters (16). Control of pressure by input of air and release of gases to maintain successively lower pressure levels results in a typical time for the conversion of less than 30 minutes.
L'invention concerne un procédé à faible consommation d'énergie destiné à convertir de la biomasse par pyrolyse en charbon ou en charbon carbonisé. La biomasse est enfermée de façon étanche dans un récipient (14), mis sous pression avec de l'air (1) et chauffée jusqu'à allumage au moyen de réchauffeurs à tubes (16). La régulation de pression par entrée d'air et libération de gaz afin de maintenir successivement des niveaux de pression inférieure résulte en un temps de conversion inférieur à 30 minutes.
