ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Grafting of maleic anhydride, possibly together with styrene, on olefinic polymers, carried out in the presence of radical starters, characterized in that the polymer is maintained in a suspension of an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic ketone containing from 3 to 22 carbon atoms. The present process overcomes the problem of grafting maleic anhydride in a suspension process, i.e. the hydrolysis of the anhydride to maleic acid.
