The invention relates to a method for preparing self-binding pigment particles either dry or in an aqueous suspension or dispersion that comprises, in a particular step of the method, a reverse emulsion comprising a dispersion of water particles in an oily phase and at least one polymer including acrylamide with an acrylic monomer.
