The present invention relates to a process for hydrogenating an aldehyde. An aldehyde is contacted with a catalyst comprising a support containing at least 95% a-alumina and non-support metals dispersed on the surface of the support. The non-support metals comprise nickel and/or one or more compounds thereof and molybdenum and/or one or more compounds thereof. The nickel and/or one or more compounds thereof comprise from 3 wt.% to 9 wt.% of the catalyst, by metallic weight, and the molybdenum and/or one or more compounds thereof comprise from 1 wt.% to 4 wt.% of the catalyst, by metallic weight.
La présente invention concerne un traitement d'hydrogénation d'aldéhyde. Un aldéhyde est mis en contact avec un catalyseur comprenant un support contenant au moins 95% d'alumine-.alpha. et des métaux non supports dispersés sur la surface du support. Ces métaux dispersés sont essentiellement le nickel et/ou l'un au moins de ses composés ainsi que le molybdène et/ou l'un au moins de ses composés. Le nickel et/ou les composés considérés constituent de 3% en poids à 9% en poids du catalyseur par poids de métal, le molybdène et/ou les composés considérés constituant de 1% en poids à 4% en poids du catalyseur par poids de métal.
