The invention relates to a process to impart permanence to a shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material comprising submitting, under low tension, the shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material to a constant and uniformly distributed electromagnetic field generated by a single mode Transverse Magnetic 010 mode cylindrical resonant cavity microwave reactor,- the uniformly distributed electromagnetic field being operated at frequencies of from 5 MHz to 500 GHz,- the shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material being processed through the uniformly distributed electromagnetic field at a rate of from 0.01 to 1200 m/min,- the rate of the increase in temperature of the shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material being less than 300~C/s,- the shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material comprising at least one polymeric structure comprising amino groups and at least 0.05 weight % of an aqueous composition. The invention also relates to permanently shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material obtained by this process, in particular to permanently twisted fibers, and to a structure comprising this shaped non thermoplastic fibrous material.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé servant à conférer la permanence de forme à un matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné qui consiste à cet effet à soumettre, sous faible tension, ce matériau à un champ électromagnétique constant et uniformément réparti produit par un réacteur à micro-ondes à cavité résonante cylindrique à mode transversal-magnétique 010 monomode. Dans cette invention, le champ électromagnétique uniformément réparti est appliqué à des fréquences comprises entre 5 MHz et 500 GHz, le matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné est traité par ce champ électromagnétique uniformément réparti à une vitesse comprise entre 0,01 et 1200 m/min, la vitesse d'augmentation de la température du matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné est inférieure à 300· C/s, et ce matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné comprend au moins une structure polymère contenant des groupes amino et au moins 0,05 % en poids d'une composition aqueuse. Cette invention concerne également un matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné à permanence de forme, obtenu par ce procédé, en particulier à des fibres torsadées en permanence, ainsi qu'à une structure comprenant ce matériau fibreux non thermoplastique façonné.
