The subject of the invention is a process for improving the mutual compatibility of natural and/or synthetic polymers, by the use of cyclodextrin in the polymer mixture. The cyclodextrin may represent in particular from 0.5 to 20% by weight of the polymer mixture. This mixture advantageously consists of a starch, in particular a plasticized starch, and a synthetic polymer such as a polyethylene, a polypropylene, a polystyrene, a PVC, a PVOH or polycaprolactone. The cyclodextrin is advantageously provided in the form of a composition containing one of the constituent polymers of the mixture (for example starch), a plasticizer (for example a polyol), a nucleation agent and/or a standard compatibilizing agent.
