In a hydrocracking unit (12), the flash gases (24) from the high-pressure separator (20) are fed to the bottom of an absorption zone (70) where the entering gases are counter-currently contacted with a lean solvent (74). The lean solvent absorbs away the contained methane, ethane, propane, butanes and pentanes (C1+) from the contained hydrogen. The overhead gas stream (76) from the absorption zone typically contains hydrogen at a purity of 90 to 98 mol %, or even higher, which is fed to the recycle gas stream to provide hydrogen purity in the range of 96 to 99 mol %, thereby providing an increase in the overall efficiency of the hydroprocessor unit. The process can also be employed with hydrotreating, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodenitrogenation and hydrodealkylation reactors.

Selon la présente invention, dans une unité d'hydrocraquage (12), la vapeur instantanée (24) issue du séparateur haute pression (20) est amenée dans la partie inférieure d'une zone d'absorption (70) où les gaz entrant sont mis en contact, à contre-courant, avec un solvant léger (74). Ce solvant léger absorbe le méthane, l'éthane, le propane, les butanes et les pentanes (1+) contenus dans l'hydrogène contenu. Le flux de gaz de tête (76) provenant de la zone d'absorption renferme généralement de l'hydrogène présentant une pureté située entre 90 et 98 % mol., voire supérieure, qui est amené au flux de gaz de recyclage, afin d'obtenir une pureté d'hydrogène située entre 96 et 99 % mol., augmentant ainsi l'efficacité globale de l'unité d'hydroprocesseur. Le procédé selon cette invention peut également être mis en oeuvre sans réacteurs d'hydrotraitement, d'hydrodésulfurisation, d'hydrodénitrification et d'hydrodésalkylation.
