A method of isolating and purifying galactose oxidase from a fungus media is disclosed. The supernatant liquid from the fermentation broth is subjected to ultrafiltration and then separated on a carboxy-sulfon cation exchange column using high pres- sure liquid chromatography. Copper ions must be present to insure enzyme activity.
