The present invention relates to a process for isomerization of pentene-2-oic acid into pentene-3-oic and pentene-4-oic acids. More particularly, it relates to a process for isomerization of pentene-2-oic acid into the other pentenoic acids, caracterized in that said pentene-2-oic acid is brought in contact in vapour phase with a solid acid catalyst selected amongst the acid molecular sieves, clays, bridged clays (or pillar clays), massic oxides and acid phosphates, a solid basic catalyst selected amongst metal basic phosphates, metal basic oxides and basic molecular sieves or an amphoteric solid catalyst selected amongst metal amphoteric oxides.
La présente invention concerne un procédé d'isomérisation de l'acide pentène-2-oïque en acides pentène-3-oïque et pen- tène-4-oïque. Elle consiste plus particulièrement en un procédé d'isomérisation de l'acide pentène-2-oïque dans les autres acides penténoïques, caractérisé en ce que l'on met en contact en phase vapeur ledit acide pentène-2-oïque avec un catalyseur solide acide choisi parmi les tamis moléculaires acides, les argiles, les argiles pontées (ou argiles à pilier), les oxydes massiques et les phosphates acides, un catalyseur solide basique choisi parmi les phosphates métalliques basiques, les oxydes métalliques basi- ques et les tamis moléculaires basiques ou un catalyseur solide amphotère choisi parmi les oxydes métalliques amphotères.
