ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for laying building materials by employing a water-soluble bonding agent. The process comprises the step of forming a bonding layer on a bonding surface of said building material by applying a water-soluble bonding agent to said bonding surface prior to laying of said building material. The water-soluble bonding agent is selected from water-soluble synthetic resins having excellent bonding force or a mixture thereof. This mixture is prepared by mixing inorganic fine particles, water-soluble asphalt having excellent water proof qualities, silicic soda, and a water- soluble synthetic resin. The inorganic fine particles are selected from inorganic fine particle extenders, such as stone dust, fine sands, clay, carbide cinders, coal cinders, slag and a mixture thereof.
