The present invention relates to a process for making air stable, water- reactive foam components comprising polymeric material and an active ingredient and preferably a liquid, which are to be delivered to aqueous environment, using the step of submitting a viscous mixture of the ingredients, having a specific viscosity and/ or being intensively mixed, to pressure, typically by using an extrusion process, and whereby a gas is introduced in this mixture. The process is typically such that only small amount of liquid are required and only limited drying is needed to remove the liquid to obtain the components. Typically additional gas is injected in the process (in addition to gas of mixing) to improve foaming. The invention also provides components obtained by such a process.

L'invention concerne un procédé relatif à la fabrication de produits en mousse stables à l'air et réagissant avec l'eau, qui renferment un matériau polymère et un principe actif et de préférence un liquide. On destine ces produits à un environnement aqueux, en soumettant un mélange visqueux de leurs éléments constitutifs, selon une viscosité spécifique et/ou un brassage intensif, à une pression, généralement par extrusion, et on introduit un gaz dans le mélange. Habituellement, seule une faible quantité de liquide est nécessaire et un séchage limité suffit pour éliminer le liquide et élaborer les produits. En règle générale, on injecte du gaz additionnel (par rapport à l'injection de gaz dans le mélange) afin d'améliorer le moussage. L'invention concerne également des produits élaborés selon le procédé décrit.
