ABSCTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a novel process for making a superior solid golf ball and to the golf ball made by the process. The golf ball is made from an admixture of polybuta- diene and a metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and involves the usage of at least two free radical initiators having different reactivities, one of the radical initiators having a half life which is at least three times greater than the half life of one of the others at 320°F. The resulting golf ball provides a surprising and unexpected increase in initial velocity, particularly when compared to one made with either one of the initiators alone.
