ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a novel process for making phenyl fluoroacrylate monomer. The monomer is obtained by reaction of a fluoroacrylic salt with an halogenating agent, followed by condensation of the fluoroacryloyl halogenide with phenol and recovery of the phenyl fluoroacrylate. The obtained monomer is applicable to the manufacture of trans- parent polymers of high thermal stability.
