A process for making a 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one by cycling a bisamide precursor under alkaline conditions in the presence of oxygen or an oxygen- release compound in the presence of a nitrogen, sulphur or phosphorus nucleophile. Preferred nucleophiles are ammonia, primary, secondary and tertiary amines, amides, pyridines and quinolines.
L'invention a pour objet un procédé de fabrication de 1,2-benzisothiazoline-3-one. Ce procédé consiste à cycler un précurseur de bisamide dans des conditions alcalines en présence d'oxygène, ou un composé libérateur d'oxygène en présence d'azote, de soufre ou de nucléophile de phosphore. Les nucléophiles préférés sont l'ammoniac; les amines primaires, secondaires et tertiaires, les amides, les pyridines et les quinoléines.
