ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention concerns a process for obtain- ing polymers which are degradable under the direct action of the sun light. This process comprises reacting a ethylene- -vinyl alcohol copolymer with an alpha-diazoacetophenone or a p-substituted derivative thereof having the general formula: Image in which X is a radical selected from the group comprising H, COR, SO3H, R, SCN, NO, halogens, CN, COOH, COOR, wherein R is an alkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl radical. The polymers obtained by such a process can be particularly used in the packing industry.
