The present invention addresses a method for extruding, calibrating, and cooling a multi-layer profile comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and a barrier material, and the product produced by such method. The method further encompasses the use of a standard can seamer and standard can closures to seal said extruded profile with food contained therein. The invention permits the extrusion and effective cooling and calibration of larger diameter and smaller thickness PET profiles or pipes in commercial quantities with effective control of quality and eccentricity of the profiles produced.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé d'extrusion, de calibrage et de refroidissement d'un profilé multicouche comportant du poly(éthylène téréphtalate) (PET) et un matériau barrière. Elle se rapporte également au produit obtenu selon ledit procédé. Ledit procédé consiste à utiliser une sertisseuse normalisée et des fermetures normalisées de boites pour fermer hermétiquement ledit profilé extrudé renfermant un produit alimentaire. Cette invention permet l'extrusion, le refroidissement efficace et le calibrage de profilés ou tuyaux en PET de diamètre relativement grand et d'épaisseur relativement faible, en quantités commerciales et avec un contrôle efficace de la qualité et de l'excentricité des profilés produits.
