The present invention is for a process for preparing monoacetals of hydroquinone wherein said process provides for higher yields of greater purity. Said process utilizes a two-step reaction wherein a protected hydroquinone is reacted with an enol ether to form a protected intermediate. Upon hydrogenolysis of said intermediate, a final product monoacetal hydroquinone, is formed having higher degree of purity and in greater yields than the yields attributed to reactions known in the art.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé pour préparer des monoacétals d'hydroquinone, qui permet d'obtenir des rendements accrus d'une pureté plus grande. Ce procédé utilise une réaction en deux étapes, dans laquelle une hydroquinone protégée est mise en réaction avec un éther énolique, afin de former un intermédiaire protégé. Par hydrogénolyse de cet intermédiaire, on forme un produit final, le monoacétal d'hydroquinone, ayant un plus haut degré de pureté et des rendements supérieurs aux rendements obtenus avec les réactions connues dans l'état actuel de la technique.
