ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is concerned with a process for making threaded shanks which comprises cutting lengths of different sections with continuous uniform screw thread useful for connecting members such as hinges. The process comprises any steps i.e.: pressing at high pressure in a die a starting blank to provide a worked piece having different decreasing diameters (head section, intermediate section, lead-in section); threading simultaneously in a single operation these thee sections throughout the sank length by means of two rotating scored-surface combs having a negative profile of the screw thread to be produced on the smaller sections of said piece, except the head section, which remains smooth, while all said smaller sections have a continuous tooth screw thread. The above shank is adapted in hinges for window and door frames.
