ABSTRACT A process for making tertiary-butyl glycidyl ether by reacting a glycerol .alpha.-monohalohydrin with iso- butylene to produce a mixture of the 1- and 2-butyl mono- ethers and the 1,2-dibutyl ether of the halohydrin, dehydrohalogenating the 1-monoether to produce tertiary- -butyl glycidyl ether, separating the tertiary-butyl glycidyl ether from the remaining halohydrin ethers and returning the latter ethers to step (1).
