PROCESS FOR MAKING TITANIUM DIOXIDE CONCENTRATES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure relates to a process for making titanium dioxide concentrates from material containing titanium oxide and iron oxides. More particularly, the titanium oxide-con- taining material is calcined at temperatures of 870 to 1300°C, and then treated with a chlorine-containing gas at temperatures of 800 to 1300°C, if desired with addition of carbon.
